Sedation Dentistry

Conquer Your Dental Anxiety for Good

Sedation Dentistry Is the Key

Dental anxiety is a common condition that unfortunately prevents many people from getting the dental care they need, often leading to worse dental and overall health. If you’re one of those people, you’ve chosen the right dental practice. From the moment you walk into our Bluffton, SC office, you’ll be put at ease by a serene, spa-like, amenity-rich environment.

Dr. Richard Porcelli, our founder, has received specialized training in oral sedation. He has been certified with the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation (DOCS) since 2009. Under his guidance, we offer a variety of sedation dentistry options to minimize your anxiety and discomfort during any procedure:

  • Oral sedation/conscious sedation
  • Nitrous oxide
  • Local anesthetic
  • Anesthesiologist, if needed

Our Preferred Type of Sedation Dentistry

While we have several types of sedation available—each with its own benefits—conscious sedation is our preferred sedation dentistry method. It’s safe and easy to administer, coming in pill form instead of through a needle. In a way it’s the ideal form of sedation: Dr. Porcelli and our team will be able to ask you questions and interact with you normally, but after the procedure you’ll have little or no memory of it. Because of this you will be unable to drive for a time and must have someone take you home after your appointment.

Suffer from dental anxiety? Relax! We use conscious sedation for many of our procedures, from teeth cleanings to dental implant placement, providing the minimal dose you need to feel safe and secure. Our experienced team, our unique tranquil setting, and our sedation dentistry options are just what you need.
